Pennine Windows and Conservatories wins National award Second Year Running
Pennine Home Improvements won Installer of the Year Award at a national award ceremony at the Sierra Awards 2010 – the second year in succession that the company has won national recognition for product, service and operational excellence.
Judged by a panel of industry peers, the company which designs, supplies and installs energy-efficient windows, doors, conservatories and roofline products, was held up as a “shining example of best practice” within the home improvement sector.
They also spent half-a-million pounds to create new show sites at North Tyne Industrial Estate in Benton and a show village at Heighley Gate Garden Centre, just north of Morpeth.
In all this investment has created near to 50 jobs, including new call centre and door-to-door canvassing roles.
Sales director Mel Gess said: “Pennine has had a period of significant expansion and change and we’re delighted to be able to say it’s delivering results. That success is underpinned by the continuing hard work of our people, the quality of products we supply and service we deliver.
“While we have grown – and although it’s something of a cliché – we try and retain ‘that personal touch’ when doing business. It’s something that has served us well and which will remain a foundation as we look to grow in the future.”
Held this year amid the splendour of the Jacobean Welcombe Hotel Spa and Golf Club, Stratford-upon-Avon Pennine’s continuing growth received special recognition at the award ceremony.
The company is part of the Newcastle-based Crownfold Group which has seen turnover almost double in the last two years. David Hurst of the Sierra Awards said: “The National Installer of the Year Award recognises business excellence. That’s excellence in all areas of operation from sales, to marketing and business development but above all customer service. The awards panel unanimously agreed that Pennine was the home improvement company that epitomised these values.”
